Home
In this project, I attempt to capture my feeling of "home."
To me, home is like a collage. Mixed and matched people and things that come together to make something more. As empty shelves fill with books, fridges collect magnets, and tables clutter with paper, a home begins to form. I appreciate the random objects I’ve grown accustomed to, and realize that each contributes to my feeling of home.
Moments like sitting on the couch watching football with my parents are quickly becoming more and more precious. I snap pictures, trying to freeze time; but of course, it doesn’t work.
Maybe someday, when I've started a new life somewhere far away, I’ll hang these photos up on my wall. Maybe someday these images will help start a home of my own somewhere new. I’ll look at them and know that I take a little bit of home with me where ever I go.
Cameraless Photography
A photogram is created by placing objects directly onto a onto a photosensitive surface, in this case photographic paper, and exposing it to light. Photograms are made using darkroom techniques.
